CUSCO is a four-ply twisted DK yarn made of 100% baby alpaca with a meterage of 85 m on 50 g. Our Alpaca classic in exquisite quality has velvety soft touch, with delicate fluff and fine shine.

We source the alpaca wool for CUSCO from Peru, where the animals are kept in their natural environment in the highlands of the Andes. Our Peruvian production partner is fair-trade certified and also a member of the Asociación Internacional de la Alpaca, a non-profit organization that upholds the outstanding Alpaca quality standard and ensures the economic, social and environmental sustainability. The local raw wool is spun directly on site and dyed according to the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for baby products.

CUSCO is wonderfully warming and unsurpassed soft on the skin, making it particularly suitable for cuddly scarves and shawls. It gives garments such as sweaters and cardigans a noble shimmer and a gently flowing fall.

For an extra portion of fluff and even more softness, CUSCO can be wonderfully worked double stranded with our Super-Kid mohair yarn PREMIA, but also MODENA and our pure alpaca yarns PIURA and CUSI are perfect for combinations.

LAMANA color world: Due to the carefully coordinated colors, our qualities can be combined very harmoniously with each other, but also offer the possibilities of light nuances and strong contrasts.

Care: CUSCO can be washed in the cold wool cycle in the washing machine. We recommend the use of a neutral, mild wool detergent without enzymes and plasticizers, in very low doses. Then dry the knitted piece gently lying flat and avoid direct sunlight.
