Basic Socken

Simple, thick socks, ideal for cozy days at home on the couch or extra warm feet in shoes and boots.
The socks are designed very simply, without much frills, so that they are knitted quickly and easily. They are worked with a 4.0 mm 5dpns from the top down. First the cuff is knitted in 1/1 rib pattern, then the shaft in 2/2 rib pattern. The heel is worked as a diagonal seam heel using shadow wraps. Finally, the toe box is knitted as a classic barn toe.
Techniques used: Italian cast-on, German short rows with shadow wraps, increases and decreases inclined to the right and left side. All techniques are explained directly in the pattern or with the help of links to tutorials.
